Description

Тhe report takes stock of a year in which Europe warmed faster than any other continent.

It traces record-breaking heat, stark east–west contrasts in rain and sunshine, and the continent’s most widespread flooding since 2013. It also takes a look at and charts record sea-surface and lake temperatures and the Arctic’s third-warmest year, with sea-ice extent dropping well below average.

Deep-dive case studies unpack Storm Boris’s 8 500 km flood footprint and Valencia’s 772 mm deluge, while heat-stress metrics log unprecedented tropical nights.

The report finally links the data to action, urging stronger adaptation of buildings and infrastructure as extreme-weather risks escalate.
